The perfect combination of biosafety and hydrogen peroxide sterilization technology

Vaporized hydrogen peroxide, also known as vaporized hydrogen peroxide, Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide, referred to as VHP, vaporized hydrogen peroxide is the use of hydrogen peroxide at room temperaturegas state is more capable of killing bacterial spores than the liquid state.are a technique for achieving complete sterilization requirements. The VHP pass box we usually talk about refers to the vaporized hydrogen peroxide transfer hatch, which is an integrated transfer cabin in which the device of the vaporized hydrogen hydride generator is directly installed inside the pass box.

of course, if the hydrogen peroxide generator device is installed in a single-door box, not a double-door transfer box, its application range will be more extensive, we also call it hydrogen peroxide sterilization chamber, like the headgear fumigation chamber is a kind of use.

Technical way

Vaporizes hydrogen peroxide liquid into hydrogen peroxide gas through high-temperature flash evaporation, and sprays it into the sterilization space through high-speed air flow. When high-temperature saturated hydrogen peroxide vapor contacts the surface of colder sterilized articles, it will form invisible micro-condensation, and attack pathogenic microorganisms (damage cell membranes, lipids, proteins and DNA) through the released strong oxidative free radicals (hydroxyl groups), which can achieve a log6 rapid killing effect on microorganisms. After the sterilization is completed, the vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization equipment will automatically decompose the hydrogen peroxide molecules in the environment into water vapor and oxygen. When the hydrogen peroxide concentration in the space drops below 1ppm, the sterilization is completed. VHP transmission hatch adopts dry sterilization technology, which kills bacteria by reducing the humidity of the space and increasing the concentration of hydrogen peroxide. The whole operation process needs to dehumidify the sterilized space, and the humidity is generally required to be controlled below 30%.

Application areas

With the implementation and promotion of the new version of GMP, China has put forward higher requirements for the production of drugs, especially with the rapid development of biological agents, disposable system technology is more and more widely used, sterilization has been a key link in the production process of biopharmaceuticals, in order to improve product quality, it is very important to choose the appropriate sterilization method.

In a variety of sterilization methods, most companies will choose dry hydrogen peroxide sterilization, which can kill the biological indicator-Bacillus stearothermophilus log6, becoming a new choice for purification in biological fields such as antibodies, CAR T, stem cells, etc. Vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) biological sterilization technology is a sterilization and disinfection method that converts liquid hydrogen peroxide into gaseous hydrogen peroxide at room temperature. There are many research reports at home and abroad. Its main characteristics are drying, rapid action, non-toxic and no residue. The sterilization and disinfection technology is widely used in biotechnology, medicine and health, pharmaceutical industry and other fields, suitable for sterilization and disinfection of surfaces such as rooms, biosafety cabinets, transfer windows, animal cage exchange stations, isolators and medical devices.

Sterilization Process

Cavity pressure holding:In the early stage of each sterilization, the cavity is pressurized, and the pressure holding process is carried out after charging. The next operation cannot be performed until the pressure holding is confirmed to be correct. This step is to ensure the air tightness of the hydrogen peroxide sterilization transfer hatch, prevent hydrogen peroxide leakage, and ensure the safety of on-site operators and the environment will not be damaged.

Cavity self-cleaning:After the pressure maintenance is confirmed, the air inlet fan and the exhaust fan are used to replace the air in the cavity for about 2min, so as to completely discharge the air inside the cavity, achieve the self-cleaning effect, and prepare for the next step of heating and dehumidification.

Cavity heating and dehumidification:After the self-cleaning is completed, the rotary dehumidifier is used to heat up and dehumidify the cavity. This step is to increase the temperature inside the cavity and reduce the humidity inside the cavity to provide the best environmental conditions for the sterilization of hydrogen peroxide. Too high air humidity or too low ambient temperature will reduce the disinfection and sterilization effect, so before disinfection and sterilization work, the disinfection and sterilization space must be cleaned and dried. By controlling the wheel dehumidifier, it can effectively control all monitoring values in the heating and dehumidification process and make logical judgment of the program.

Sterilization upgrade:uses a hydrogen peroxide generator to inject hydrogen peroxide gas into the cavity after the temperature rise and dehumidification is completed, and accelerates the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the cavity in a short time, so that the cavity quickly reaches the sterilization lower limit concentration value ≥ 300ppm.

Sterilization Maintenance:After reaching the lower limit concentration value of sterilization, the temperature and humidity of the cavity are maintained within a controllable range, and the concentration is maintained for a certain period of time ≥ 300ppm. This process uses the way of internal circulation, through the dehumidifier, air inlet fan and exhaust fan cycle work, hydrogen peroxide gas in the cavity internal replacement. This step is to ensure that the hydrogen peroxide is able to sufficiently contact and kill all microorganisms inside the chamber.

Degradation and residue removal:sterilization is completed, the hydrogen peroxide gas inside the cavity is replaced by the exhaust fan, and the hydrogen peroxide concentration inside the cavity is quickly exhausted to less than 1ppm, so as to ensure that the operator will not be harmed by hydrogen peroxide when opening the transfer window. The catalytic filtration device is integrated inside the equipment to ensure that the discharge interlayer can also cause no risk and damage to the interlayer operation and the environment.

Freestanding modular unit

Hydrogen peroxide sterilization transfer window mainly includes: door sealing system, high efficiency filtration system, peristaltic pump system, inflation and pressure holding system, temperature and humidity control system, loading mode, etc.

Hydrogen peroxide sterilization transfer hatch is sterilized by flashing 35% high-concentration hydrogen peroxide solution into gas and transporting it to the chamber of the pass box. The whole process is monitored in real time. Through process development and PID process adjustment (such as injection volume, temperature and humidity control, air volume, etc.), the surface sterilization of the transferred material is effectively ensured, and at the same time, hydrogen peroxide condensate does not remain on the surface of the material, so that the sterilized surface is always dry. It comes with a high-efficiency filter to realize self-purification function. The design of double-leaf door is sealed and isolated by JIEHAO's inflatable sealing technology certified by a third party, and the double-door interlocking is realized to prevent cross-infection.

Looking to the Future

Hydrogen peroxide as an important environmentally friendly disinfectant has been widely used in recent years. especiallyVaporized Hydrogen Peroxideandhydrogen peroxide plasma sterilizerhas led to explosive growth in hydrogen peroxide disinfection.

Vaporized hydrogen peroxidecan be used for space disinfection, such as biosafety laboratories, GMP workshops, hospital wards, laboratory animal centers, etc., as well as various biosafety equipment (such as isolators, incubators, transfer windows, biosafety cabinets, high-efficiency filtration units and various types of ventilation The disinfection of pipes, etc.) is a reliable disinfection and sterilization method with broad development prospects. With the further combination of automatic control technology and traditional disinfection methods, more standardized and safer hydrogen peroxide disinfection technology will be used in the field of disinfection in various industries and play an important social and economic benefits.

Hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilizationthe cavity needs to be vacuumed, the space is relatively limited, and it is more suitable for sterilization of medical devices, appliances and articles that are not resistant to humidity and high temperature, and the price is relatively expensive.

Considerations

Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidant, high concentrations of corrosive to the skin and mucous membranes, once splashed, should immediately rinse with water for more than 5min, and then seek medical treatment. Skin disinfection concentration of 3% hydrogen peroxide is relatively safe, is the actual non-toxic grade.

Vaporized hydrogen peroxide delivery window,The above is only the company's understanding of the product. If there are any mistakes, please correct them.due to the limitation of cost and technology, the gap between data and function and STERIS still exists, but the localization of biosafety equipment is urgent and imperative. Let's create social value for the development of pharmaceutical industry and biosafety laboratory.
