■Dehumidification

Dry HEPA filtered air is circulated to reduce the humidity to a predetermined level in the range of 10-60% relative humidity. This allows the necessary H2O2 vapor concentration to be kept below the saturation dew point during the conditioning and sterilization phases. The returning air passes through a dryer and is then heated as a carrier for the VHP. Internal HEPA filters prevent contamination of internal machine parts and prevent re-contamination of sealed cavities.

 

■Conditional effect

As H2O2 sterilizing steam is injected into the air stream before exiting the device through the air stream. The H2O2 sterilant injection rate can be controlled in the range of 1 to 12 g/min. The conditioning phase helps achieve the target biological sterilization concentration faster in larger volume sealed cavity applications. The adjustment time is affected by the sterilant injection rate, cavity volume, cavity contents and temperature.

 

■Biological sterilization

Target VHP sterilization steam concentration is maintained throughout the sealed cavity for a specific time, and the biological sterilization time varies depending on the structure of the sealed cavity and the contents of the cavity.

 

■Batalytic degradation

The H2O2 sterilizing steam injection is stopped, the dry HEPA filtered air circulation flow continues through the catalytic converter to reduce the H2O2 vapor concentration in the chamber. A cavity vent system may also be used to accelerate the degradation time.
